Do not Limit Your Faith in God by Your Level of Thinking

  Great God is in you, but He may be limited by your way of thinking. God is always working in you; through the basis of your self-level, the level of your prayer and the level of your thinking. "It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose." (Phil 2:13). "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us" (Ephesians 3:20).

  One day God told one beggar to ask Him anything and He would give him anything. So the beggar thought about what to ask. He thought in his mind that he might need a nice empty Aluminum can so that he could put the rice he begs and receives from the people in it. So he asked God to give him an empty Aluminum can and God gave him that. God asked him again "what is your second request?" The beggar thought again in his mind that the empty Aluminum can was not enough, therefore he asked God for a nice stainless steel empty can for begging. God answered his second request.  God finally asked the beggar: "What is your last request? I can give you whatever you want." The beggar thought again this time that he might need a nice rice cooker. He thought that it was needed to keep the rice warm. So he asked God to give him the rice cooker, then God granted his final request. Why did this happen? Why did the beggar have to ask God like that? Because his self-image was poor. Since he thought of himself as a beggar, his level of prayer was also on that level. He prayed on the level of his self-image and of his way of thinking. Therefore you have to know who God is and who you are. 

  The kind of self-image you clothe yourself is very significant. You must think in this way: "I am a man of God. I am called by omnipotent God to do the mission of God." Write down and imagine the kind of self-identity that you want to have and that God wants in your life. Success will come to the person who has a positive self-image and an affirmative way of thinking in the fourth-dimensional faith.

  David Yonggi Cho, the emeritus senior pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church, the largest church in the world (760,000 memebrship in Korea), once gave a lecture to many pastors in Korea. I was very much impressed by his speech when he mentioned the three things to be really grateful to God. Rev. Dr. Cho said that he gave thanks to God because of his experience of severe poverty in his life. He was able to learn how to depend on God in the midst of poor suffering and how to see and understand the common and poor people in his pastoral ministry. He said that he also gave thanks to God because of his experience of various illnesses. Dr. Cho suffered from illnesses such as tuberculosis, stomach inflammation, diabetes, heart disease, hemorrhoids, etc. Due to his illnesses, he began to take interest in healing ministry. He began to study the Bible for healing, read books about healing, and do healing ministry in practice. Rev. Cho also thanked God for his schooling education (officially up to the high school graduation certificate by the government at first). Because of his educational background, he resolved to study hard and dedicated himself to self-study and self-development. The difficulties in Cho's life enabled him to do ministry for the common people, do healing ministry, and do study ministry. 

  Rev. Cho had many hardships and sufferings in his life, but he was not limited by his hard circumstances. He had a positive thinking in Christian faith in God. He was not limited by his surrounding circumstances. He also did not limit God by his own negative and small thinking. He had a spirit of 'faith-can-do'. Elevate your sense of inferiority, if any, with the energy of affirmative efforts. See yourself as God sees you. Remember that you are so unique, special, and beautiful. You are a masterpiece of God. God has a special plan for your life. Cherish yourself and upgrade your way of thinking in the fourth-dimensional world. Do not limit your faith in God by your thinking. Let Him work in you according to His purpose.
