2. The Four Channels of the Fourth Dimension Spirituality

(1) Thinking

  The first is our thinking. Thinking is not controlled by time, space, and material (substance?). Thinking affects the human body, human relationships, work, and circumstances around us. If we think blue, it affects our body condition. If we hate others, the thinking hurts me. The reason Jesus told us to love our enemy is basically for us. Thinking of hatred brings about ruin to our third dimensional life. Negative thinking brings about negative results in the third dimensional world, but positive thinking, positive results.

  The Bible also emphasizes the importance of thinking: “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things” (Phil 4: 8). Rev. Cho says that he has always tried to think of the positive things in his ministry and expected God’s blessings. He has also tried to change the thinking attitude of the people through the message of the Fivefold Gospels (gospel of regeneration, gospel of the fullness of the Holy Spirit, gospel of healing, gospel of blessings, and gospel of the second coming of Jesus Christ), and the message of hope (Cho, 1998). Rev. Cho believes that the way of thinking can change the fate of one’s life. He says that we need to learn how to orient our thinking to God’s thinking, which is God’s word.

 

(2) Visions and Dreams

  The second is visions and dreams. Rev. Cho says that visions and dreams are the language of the Holy Spirit in the fourth dimension and God has been using this language of the Holy Spirit to change many lives. God chose Abraham and wanted Abraham to dream about his descendants, although Abraham had no children (Gen 13:14-15). Since we are so limited in time and space, the only way for us to incubate is through our imaginations, through the visions and dreams that the Holy Spirit has given us (Cho, 1996a: 51).

  Human dreams can also affect human life, but satanic dreams are stronger than human dreams, and the dreams of the Holy Spirit are stronger than satanic dreams. Rev. Cho stresses that when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, He will inspire us with His dreams. He emphasizes that we need to have the dreams of God inspired by the Holy Spirit. The fourth dimensional dreams incubate the third dimension.

 

(3) Faith

  The third is faith. There is a difference between the third dimensional human faith and the fourth dimensional faith given by the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that everything is possible for him who believes (Mk 9: 23). Jesus stressed the power of faith by saying “if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart and believes what he says will happen, it will be done for him”(Mk 11:23). The point of what Jesus said is that when we have faith we can change even what seems impossible in human minds. Even non-Christians can have conviction that is third dimensional faith, and it works. However, faith inspired by the Holy Spirit can move and change third dimensional world. When we believe, we will see the miracles. So Rev. Cho says that pastors should help their church members cultivate and develop their faith (Cho, 2003). Church leaders need to program themselves all the time by faith (e.g. I believe that my sins are forgiven by the blood of Jesus; I believe that the blessings of Abraham are upon me in Jesus; I believe that God makes all things work together for good).

 

(4) Words

  The fourth is spoken words. Rev. Cho is sure about the creative power of spoken words. The tongue has the power of life and death and those who love it will eat its fruits (Proverbs 18:21). Salvation also requires the confession of faith (Rom 10:10). He says that according to recent findings in Neurology, the speech center in the brain has strong influence on all the other nerves (Cho, 1996a: 76). Speech can give control over one’s body, to manipulate it in the way he wishes. If we want to change our life, we need to change our language. Negative speaking programs the third dimensional world negatively, but positive speaking programs the third dimensional life positively.

  Rev. Cho confesses that the fourth dimensional spirituality was a revelation from God while he was praying (Cho, 2003). The four channels are like the software programming human life. In order to program the software, Christians need to pray and meditate and lean on the words of God, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. When we orient our thinking, dreams, faith, and language to the image of the Holy Spirit, creative change and miracles take place in the third dimensional world.
